Hi, my name is Sue Bowers, I was creative from a very young age, but I caught the Decorative Painting Bug in 1985. I took my first class in a little shop in OKC in April of that year and have not stopped since. I joined the local chapter, they had a mini convention in the fall and I was off and running or painting so to speak. I taught at my first convention in 1986 as a last-minute fill-in teacher, a whirlwind event that just fueled the painting bug.
Since that first convention teaching experience, I have taught at SDP conventions, Kaswood conventions in Canada, Creative Painting Las Vegas, NET, APC, and of course OKC Palooza as well as traveling to chapters, groups, retreats, and the long-gone local shops.
I continue to take classes, you can always learn something new no matter how small the gem you gleam from a class it adds to your knowledge.
Along with painting and teaching, I am the coordinator for the Decorative Painters Academy and am active in the local running community, I am the Chairman of the Senior OKC Memorial Marathon, and coach a training group at the local running store.
