I grew up in the small tropical nation of Belize. I have been drawing ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil. My painting journey began in secondary school at age 13 and acrylic medium has become my medium of choice. I started as a gallery artist before I discovered teaching and I still sell my work regularly. My artwork has been published in multiple art books and art magazines, and my originals have gone to collectors all over the US, Europe, The Americas and Australia. When I’m not behind the easel or teaching, I am gracing the boards of the stage as a theatrical actor. Sometimes the students convince me to sing in class. I use my theatrical lighting background and my love for the Baroque style of art to inspire the dramatic lighting and high contrast that seems to be the general theme of my work.My passion is painting nature and still life in a realistic style. The paintings look difficult, but it’s all tricks with paint that I love to teach everyone.
