Hi, my name is Carolyn Curry and I am excited to be teaching at Palooza. I started as a decorator before moving into teaching 56 years ago. In those 56 years, I also worked for Hobby Lobby for 40 years, as a coordinator and teacher. I’ve taught at convention for Tole Painting and Society for Decorative Painters, as well as teaching classes independently. I have published designs multiple times in magazines. I am a Painter’s Helper for DecoArt and Liquitex.
Currently, I am focused on oil and acrylic. I integrate traditional and contemporary techniques—such as brushwork, glazing, dry brush, color theory, and mixed media—while continually adapting to new trends and techniques. My classes now add Liquid Glass, texture medium, balance of color, and watercolor in all medias.
As an art educator with over five decades of experience, I am passionate about fostering creativity and confidence in students of all levels. My teaching philosophy centers on creating an inclusive, student-centered environment where experimentation and self-expression are encouraged. My goal is for beginners to feel empowered and for experienced artists to discover fresh approaches. I strive to help each student find their unique artistic voice and succeed in their creative journey. I would love to have you join me this year.
